The Carnival

You can live without water for a little while; you can live without fire or earth for a time as well. But try to live just a minute without AIR.  Carnival de Resistance performed their “Air Show” in Harrisonburg, Virginia – complete with custom bikes, exotic costumes and a message of sustainability.

Acts about Crows and Doves, speaking about the past and  future and what all needs to change was what made the performance  one of a kind.  From the interpretive dancing and the dramatic readings, it was different from anything I have ever seen before.

The challenge was to shoot it with camera.  The show took place outside at 8 o’clock at night and no flash was allowed.  The longer shutter speeds would get me the correct exposer, however, if there was lots of movement the subjects would sometimes not even appear in the shots.
